Personal Statement
I have been playing baseball since I was 4 years old, and have had a strong passion for the game ever since. During my baseball career I have learned that to reach my goals and aspirations it will take hard work and dedication.
I have learnt that hard work overcomes downfalls. An obstacle that I had to overcome in my baseball career was sustaining a mallet finger injury to my throwing hand just before the highschool tryouts my freshman year. At the time it seemed like a major setback, but instead, made me determined to work harder than ever. I focused on rehabilitating my finger and played travel baseball that same year. I dominated in travel baseball to get back to playing at my best.
The following year, I tried out for my high school baseball team, and made not only the JV team, but was asked to play on the Varsity team as well.
I work hard on the field and also academically, so that I can obtain my goals of being a successful student athlete in a great university.
