Personal Statement

I hope to get the opportunity to use my athletic skills to further my education, studying either engineering or biology while playing baseball for a school that can give me an elite education.  I've played organized baseball since I was 4 years old and want to keep playing as long as I can!  My greatest strength is that I love to learn and I am open to listening to my coaches and trying new things.  I am very good at making adjustments on the fly.  I'm a prototypical leadoff hitter, with great on-base skills, a strong bat from both sides of the plate and blazing speed that helps me on the basepaths and in the outfield.  I'm a leader on the field and in the dugout - sometimes by example, other times by picking up a teammate.  This is a humbling game and we will fail a lot, so I believe teammates support each other through it all.  I am hoping to find a school that will challenge me academically, give me opportunity on the baseball field and help me become more independent as I ready myself to be successful in my life after baseball.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Coker College Prospect Camp
  • 8/27/17 to 8/27/17
  • Ran a 6.5 in the 60, with exit velos of 73 from the left side and 78 from the right. Worked with outfielders on defensive skills portion. Hit and bunted well in BP. Had a great talk with the coaches and will definitely pursue a place in this program. Included a campus tour, so I feel really comfortable about this school.
  • Camp/Event
  • Indian River State College Winter Camp
  • 1/22/17 to 1/22/17
  • Ran a 6.6 in the 60 and had good swings during BP. Really windy but I threw well from the outfield right into that wind. Good talk by Coach Kingston on strength and conditioning. I think I'd fit well here since they value athletes and conditioning.
  • Camp/Event
  • Flagler Winter Camp
  • 12/10/16 to 12/11/16
  • Two-day camp - pro-style morning first day followed by games in the afternoon and game on Sunday. Wrist fracture still bothering me but I went 3 for 7 in the games with a walk and recorded a 4.0-second home-to-first time on an infield grounder I beat out. Great camp compared to others I've been to - Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator out there the whole time making notes and talking to players. Awesome!

  • Camp/Event

  • 12/12/15 to 12/13/15
  • Showcase and tryouts for Jax Warriors 2016 summer teams. Attending schools include Jacksonville U., UNF, UNC Wilmington and others. Over 130 players from NE Florida, I had the fastest 60 time of any freshman (6.8) and was top 10 at the event.

  • North Florida Storm Fall Tournament
  • 10/22/15 to 10/25/15
  • Local 18U tournament to end our fall season. I had a strong tournament, going 2 for 5 with a walk and 5 stolen bases. I also pitched an inning and got 2 strikeouts against the 18U Ponte Vedra Thunder.
  • Camp/Event
  • Providence Fall Slam Tournament
  • 10/02/15 to 10/04/15
  • 10/2/2015 @Providence High School, 10/3/2015 @Mandarin High School. I went 3 for 5 with 2 walks and 4 stolen bases, including a straight steal of home. I pitched a couple of innings in the final game against the 16U Tide and kept it close for a while but we lost a close one.
  • Camp/Event
  • University of North Florida Prospect Camp
  • 8/08/15 to 8/08/15
  • I ran a 7.0 60-yard dash and spent a lot of time doing outfield drills, working on footwork, route and jump. Got a lot of swings in live BP. This was my first showcase and I learned alot and felt like I had a chance to show what I could do in the outfield.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
