Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Cruz Warp, and I am a 2024 graduate at Windermere Prep. I have been playing baseball ever since I was 5 years old. My main goal is to reach my maximum potential in baseball. I am always woking on reaching that potential, whether it is on, or off the field. As a freshman, I was selected to be on my high schools varsity team. I started at 3B and RHP. At the end of the season, I received the Freshman Athlete of The Year award for my school.
Off the field, I am an excellent student. Maintaining a 3.91 GPA as well as challenging myself to harder classes. I take all honors classes, and plan on taking some AP's in the near future. Every day, I get my work in at my house, or on the baseball field. I hit off the tee, do my bands and weighted ball routine, etc.
The biggest thing I have learned about myself throughout playing for 10 years is how competitive I am, and my urge to become the best. Outside of school and baseball, i still try my best to better myself in fishing and hunting with my family. It has always been a contest in my family for who can catch the biggest fish, or who can shoot the biggest and prettiest bird.
To cap things off, I believe that playing at the college level could teach me a thing or two about what it's like to play on a more professional level of baseball. As well as what it takes to succeed in one of the most competitive sports in the world.
