Elmer Rivera '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello – My name is Elmer J. Rivera, I am currently a junior attending West Orange High School in Winter Garden, FL.  I was born on October 25, 2001 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  I am currently 5’10” and 180 lbs.  I am a right hander hitter and right hander thrower.  My primary position is 1^st and my secondary is second, I although, I also play third when my coaches needed me.  Baseball is my passion, has been my way of life for the past 11 years, the sport has built my character and gave me the opportunity to play and make great friends along the way.  I have much respect for the game as has been a great therapy not only for me but most important for my family.  I have been blessed by having great mentors along the way that have contributed to my development and growth.  I have played in the Puerto Rico leagues for the last 15 years, leagues included the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) and Little League.  Both leagues are very competitive and had the opportunity to represent Puerto Rico in AABC World Series during my time in the 12U, 14U and 16U categories.  I am enrolled in the YMCA where I train when not at the baseball field, I still have a lot to learn and get better at so I am always open to listen more experience players and watch training videos.  As far as my career opportunities, I will like to pursue a science degree in Engineering or Law, my plan is to begin dual enrollment for next fall to obtain college experience that will facilitate my transition after my senior year and continue to work hard in my high school courses to maintain my GPA above 3.5.  Look forward to work hard with the organization that gives me the opportunity to excel and fulfill my dreams.
