Personal Statement
My name is Ryan Kurth and I have been playing baseball since I was 4 years old. I love baseball because it is the most difficult sport to play, and the game rewards the players that work hard. I love the fact that you must always put in extra effort to get better, because if I am not working on my game, somebody else is working to improve their game. I am a good infielder who can play 3rd base and 1st base equally well. I have a strong arm and good footwork. At the plate, I am a line drive gap to gap hitter who has some pop. I have been lucky and blessed to see a lot of baseball, but my favorite type of baseball to watch is The Cape Cod League. One of my goals in baseball is to play in that league one day.
My skills and personal goals go beyond the baseball field. I pride myself in the classroom. Education comes first, and it is a privilege to play baseball. School is first, and I know what it means to be a Student-Athlete and it is in that order for a reason. Currently I think that I want to study statistics/data analysis when I go to college. My favorite class is math and that is a subject that I want to study further. Something I like to do outside of school and baseball is to hang out with friends and play cards. I also go to church and do volunteer work, and lastly, I love to play video games with my friends. I am excited to start planning for my college baseball career and to see where baseball and a college degree takes me.
