Matt Mastandrea d...Personal Statement
I am a junior at Athens Academy. I started for the varsity as a RHP and 1B freshman year. I have played travel ball from 9 years old on and been a part of many championship teams. Last year I tore my ACL at the YBOA National championships and was sidelined for awhile. I have worked hard all year and am now ready to go again. My dream and goal has always been to play college ball. I am dedicated and feel I could bring value to any team. I strive to be a leader and a good teammate.
I have been a strong RHP, even as a freshman. My velocity is consistently high 70's but I can top at 80. My pitching strength is my command and placement. I can be counted on to throw strikes.
As a first baseman, I am consistent and strong. I am also a power hitter. I have hit 4th or 5th on most teams that I have played with.
