From the moment I saw my number on the list of kids who made the 7th grade baseball team, I knew baseball was my sport. I played football, basketball, soccer and liked them all but I loved baseball. It has become my passion aside from collecting Transformers and reading.
I would say my greatest strength is my level of dedication. I am hardworking on and off the field. I maintain a 3.6 GPA in all honors and AP classes. I have participated in STEM clubs, The Math Team and I was my district's spelling bee champion my 8th grade year.
During the off season you could find me in my garage hitting off the tee, hitting the heavy bag to increase power and completing several pitching drills. My dad and I even went to the field at least three days a week to practice pitching on the mound. At times I got frustrated with myself when I didn't do as well as I thought I should. I never gave up or quit. I took a deep breath, relaxed and got back to work. I have my mom and dad to thank for always making it possible for me to capitalize on every opportunity afforded to play for a team. My goal is to be the best player I can whether it be on the mound, in the outfield, or batting.
I am respectful, coachable and willing as well as a fast learner. If asked to make an adjustment by a coach, done. If coach shows me a better or different way to do something, corrected. I pride myself in being able to self correct as well.
Never to be overlooked, I have a positive, can-do attitude. If asked to sub in for the catcher, though I've rarely played catcher, I'd be there ready to step in and give it 100%. I'm the man who's always talking up my guys on and off the field. When my team gets down I stay positive and try my best to pass along that energy and help the team succeed.
