Personal Statement
As a pitcher, one of my best characteristics is my ability to keep my cool in tense, high-pressure situations. My freshman year I made high school varsity, and as the closing pitcher I helped take the team to the final four in the Georgia state playoffs. Through that experience, I learned some valuable lessons. Lessons in how to be a leader, lessons in mental toughness, lessons in self-discipline. I believe in integrity—on and off the field—and leading by example. I strive to be the leader that always encourages my teammates to be their best and show excellent sportsmanship. I have confidence in my abilities, but I balance that with humility because I know that dedication and perseverance will be what gets me to the next level.
It is important to me that a college is academically as well as athletically challenging. I hold myself to high standards in the classroom and on the baseball field. The college classes I am taking in high school are providing the time management and study skills I need to be prepared for collegiate life. I believe that I have the character, motivation, and leadership skills to be a successful student athlete and make a positive impact on your baseball program!
