Personal Statement
Baseball is the sport that I love and want to play at the collegiate level. I began playing when I was 5 years old and have been hooked ever since. Both of my parents have supported me throughout the process and have pushed me to be the player I am today. When I made my high school baseball team my freshman year, there were a few players that went into the MLB draft so I looked up to them and they taught me a few things. They taught me that with the right mindset you can achieve anything. Since they have graduated, somebody had to step up to fill their shoes and become the type of leader that those players where. So, I decided to become that positive role model for the younger players on the team and a player that others can come to.
Throughout my time playing this sport, I have learned that how much work you put in is what you will get out. The more time you spend in the cages or throwing on the field will further your skills and will never hurt you. I've always been told "No matter how hard you work, there is always somebody outworking you." So I took that as motivation to make me the player/person I am today.
