• Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown
• Matthew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a tremendous future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At SS, defensive abilities have improved, displaying fluid/smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean as he presents on time and out front. He shows off his athletic ability on his turns/feeds of the double play. Hands/feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a balanced setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 4 for 6 with 2 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he's very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Matthew has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game.

• Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Pirate City
• Matthew is a SS/RHP that showed strong ability with great potential at the Baseball Factory National Select Training and Competition at Pirate City. Defensively, he worked efficiently to the ball with good body control and made plays with a sure glove. He had good feel for the position and was athletic in his actions. Offensively, he had a line-drive path and sprayed the baseball to all fields. He generated good torque with hand/hip coordination and got extended out in front with the barrel. On the hill, he threw a FB with run from 66-70, threw an 11/5 CB from 58-59, and sunk a CH from 58-61. He was athletic and rhythmic in his delivery, kept himself in good direction and was clean with his arm action. His command and ability to mix pitches was very advanced and he showed great upside on the mound. All in all � Matthew is an impressive prospect that we look forward to tracking.
