Personal Statement
I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember and there are so many memories and highlights. Winning the 2018 Regional Championship has been the highlight of my high school career thus far. Although we lost and were eliminated first round of playoffs, it taught me something. It taught me that I need to work that much harder to reach my goals at home, in school or on the ball field. The most influential things in my life are my parents and coaches. They’ve taught me strong values to live by and what it takes to be a player at the next level. I was first introduced to baseball when I was a child. I was about five years old when my dad wanted to play catch in the front yard. I've been in love with the game ever since then. I've learned many things over the years playing baseball. I've learned that baseball is a man's game, it can out the best and worst in you, not everything is going to go your way all the time. With that comes adversity, and the way you handle adversity shows more about you as a player and a person than just being good at it. My academic goals for high school is to graduate with a 3.0 or better. I want to strive for greater throughout college while majoring in Business. Over the years, I’ve had to overcome a few obstacles, whether it's not being fast enough, strong enough or big enough. I' ve joined a speed and agility program to work on my speed as well as I am in the gym everyday working on my strength and putting on muscle. Some unique characteristics that I possess about the game is that I know how to play the game of baseball. I know what it takes to sacrifice a hit, I know what it takes to take one for the team. I’m also very coachable, I am willing to do and learn whatever it takes to make me a better player and person.
