I discovered my love for baseball when I was 8 years old and my friend and his father where tossing the baseball in their front yard and I joined in to play. Since then with the help of cross country I’ve learned that I can accomplish what I set my mind to if I push myself. Through baseball I’ve learned that I can’t do many things without team work, and trusting my teammates to make plays and not try to do it all by myself. I really learned this while playing for my high school varsity team as a freshmen, when I realized I couldn’t over power seniors with my fastball so I had to just make them put the ball in play and ground out. One thing that has really helped me through all my travel seasons, and during my two years so far in high school is to keep a level head and stay calm during tough situations.
Academically, for high school, I have done my best to put my academics first and then sports and I have been able to achieve my goals. As I look towards college I believe I have the talent and perseverance to do both; play the best to my ability and earn my degree. Throughout my life I have been taught responsibility and to finish strong to achieve my goals; and competing at the college level is a major goal of mine.
