Personal Statement

As far back as I can remember, I have always desired to play baseball at the next level.  At each stage of baseball, from tee ball to little league to middle school to travel ball & high school, my goal was to be part of a competitive baseball program at the collegiate level. With college around the corner, that desire has not changed.

I have always been a versatile player, with my two primary positions being a middle infielder and catcher.  In high school, I have been a starting catcher all four years.  Behind the plate, I am not afraid to block anything that comes my way. It would be a rare occurrence for anything to get past me with an average pop time of 1.92. In travel and school ball, pitchers throwing over 90 committed to D1 colleges always want me behind the plate catching them because they know I will do whatever it takes to keep a ball from getting past me.

During the fourth game of my junior year, my season came to an abrupt end as I had a season-ending knee injury requiring surgery. I entered an intense rehab program with sports orthopedics and physical therapist to make me stronger than I was before. I have returned to my catching position faster than ever including a faster pop time as the starting varsity catcher for my Class AAAAAAA high school team.

Through baseball, I have formed many friendships and grown as a leader learning the importance of working together with others to accomplish a common goal. I have a passion for the sport and helping others serving as a volunteer with special needs students in my school and with Special Olympics. I have grown in character and skill through the multitude of baseball opportunities I have been given. I am actively involved in my church and school. I am a part of many community service activities as well as clubs at my school.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
