Personal Statement
My goal is to play baseball at the next level. My mom has influenced me the most to go to college because she never got the opportunity to continue her education after High School because a few weeks after her graduation she had to raise a family. She always wants the best for me and my siblings, I always want to make her proud and continue my education after High School. My parents put me in baseball when I was about 5 or 6 and I never missed a season since then, My mom made sure that we didn’t miss a practice or a game. She always paid for registration and equipment. That’s why I want to continue my career in baseball because I know that money will come one day and I can help my mom out. My academic goals for High School are to finish the rest of High School with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Growing up in a small town like Kohala everybody knows everybody so if you do something that's not very good people know about it. After High School, I want go to college and do the same as High School. Also, continue to play baseball, and if I do get the chance I will make the most of it because I know not many people from Hawaii get a chance to college and play professional baseball. I remember watching the 2013 World Series and I was watching Kolten Wong and Shane Victorino play each other and I wasn't going for Cardinals or Red Sox's. I cheered for team Hawaii. I play a little bit of catcher and outfield is my secondary position. I also watch Kirby Yates and Kurt Suzuki. Plenty of Hawaii kids look up to them. To know that they made it out of Hawaii, I know that I have a chance. To me they are just Hawaii Bois playing the sport they love.
