John Acord '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is John Acord. I am 5'11", and I weigh 160 lbs. I have started on the Glenns Ferry Varsity Baseball team all 3 years. My sophomore year I earned 1st Team All-State. We have placed 3rd or better every season. I have a 3.4 GPA and recieved a 21 on my ACT.

It is, and always has been my dream to play baseball in college. I feel that I can bring dedication, hard work, and leadership to a team. I have the drive to be the best that I can be, and to achieve my dream. For the past 3 years I have been the Team Captain, and the leader of our team both on and off the field. During the off-season I work out everyday in the weight-room, and I throw every other day to get my arm in shape.

I live in Idaho, but I would really like to explore out of this state and go to school somewhere in Oregon, or Washington. I've always been taught that academics comes first, and I am a strong believer in this, so I would like to go to a good academic school that offers classes in the Physical Therapy field. Though, I am open to any kind of school.

Financial Aid will be important to my family and I in the selection of a college. My family is a middle-income family. We own a small ranch, and business in our hometown. We qualify at this time for financial aid, for my sister, who is student at the University of Idaho.

My goal as a freshman in college is to make a direct impact on the team, and to play at the highest level possible. Starting as a freshman is a huge goal of mine as well.
