Personal Statement
My name is Dylan Andrews, I am heading into my sophomore year at Potlatch Jr./Sr. High School in the little town of Potlatch Idaho. The goals, future career plans and aspirations for college and beyond that I have are several. But my most and only important I wish to accomplish is to pursue a career in baseball. For as long as I could remember, I have wanted to be a baseball player. To reach my goals, I realize that I must work hard at building on my natural abilities as an athlete and baseball play, and even harder at building on the areas of baseball that are more challenging as a developing athlete that are more along the line of learned abilities. My love for baseball has been encouraged and supported from a very young age by my parents who attend every game between the two of them. I have been a competitive and hard working athlete since I started playing T-Ball at the age of 5. Since that time I have worked my way up through the levels of baseball that are available to me in my town, as well as in surrounding towns where I have tried out and made traveling teams and All-Star teams. My freshman year in high school was very inspirational to me as I worked hard to obtain a place on the varsity team, won districts, and went on to take the state championship title. Following that season I tried out for a All-Star team that also successfully obtained a state title. For my sophomore year, I will be playing on the high school varsity baseball team where I aspire to assist my team to another state title, and following that season try out for the Legion baseball team. On the educational end, I plan on continuing to get good grades and challenge myself as a student.
