Personal Statement

I am a 6'4" RHP who also has many years experience at 1st base.  As a sophomore I was one of the starting pitchers on the varsity team for the 2015 season.  I work and train throughout the year to improve the control and speed of my pitches.  I work hard, am open minded and seek out direction and correction from my coaches and trainers.  I enjoy being taught and gaining as much knowledge as possible from as many coaches as possible.  I am able to keep my composure on the mound in difficult situations and perform well under pressure.   In addtition to my high school team I also play on the Illinois Sparks in the summer and am part of Cangelosi Baseball in the fall.  I have traveled with Cangelosi Baseball to Fort Myers, FL and pitched in the Wooden Bat World Series.  In addition to my hard work on the field, I am also an honors student finishing the 2014-2015 school year with a 4.43 GPA, and as a junior am a starting forward on the basketball team.

Was Chicago Tribune Player of the week 5/2016

Player of the Week: Oak Forest's Jake Jones, a junior right-handed pitcher, fired a two-hitter and struck out 13 to lead the Bengals to a 4-1 win over Oak Lawn and drove in four runs later in the week during a 12-2 win over Bremen.
