Hello, my name is Aidan Boyle. I attend Saint Ignatius College Prep and I am going to be a sophomore in the fall of 2016. My GPA in my first semester was a 3.1/4.0 (unweighted). I also compete on the baseball and football field for the Wolfpack, playing wide receiver and second base. I have a passion for both sports and strive my best to be the best in both,
This summer, I will be playing club baseball for the Chicago Mudcats. My coach is Jeff Szukala, and the link to my schedule is chicagomudcats.com. I play in tournaments each weekend from June 6- July 27. I recently finished my freshman season of baseball at Saint Ignatius. My batting average was just above .300, as I played third base and 2 innings of second base. I pitched 7 innings total with a 0.5 ERA in 2 appearances in relief. My team played high competition, teams such as Mount Carmel, Providence and Saint Rita.
Baseball has always been a passion to me. Not many people can deal with failing 7 out of 10 times and still be called great. Not many people are able to put a cylindrical bat on a spherical ball and drive it 300+ feet. The challenge it poses pushes me to take an extra groundball or focus on hitting to the back of the cage. It is truly a grind, which needs mental toughness and perseverance to stick with, but if you are confident in your ability the sky is the limit. That is why baseball is so great.
