Jordan Dehart '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a well-rounded, hardworking kid with a dream to play at the next level in college.  I have played baseball since I could walk and I do not plan on stopping after i graduate high school.  I am playing sports all year round and I make sure my grades come first in order to be able to play sports to my full potential.  I think I would be a great fit to any team at the collegiate level because I can play any position on the field and be comfortable.  My primary position is center field because of my reactions and speed.  I can pick up the ball off the bat very well and I use my speed to track it down in the gaps and prevent extra-base hits.  My secondary position is shortstop or second base.  At these infield positions I can use my quick reactions to field, turn double plays, and pick-off runners.  Hitting I am a very disciplined right-handed hitter and like to work the count and wear down a pitcher.  I do not watch a third strike go by and I will swing at anything reasonable to a strike.  I prefer to foul off off-speed pitches and jump on a fastball or hit the off-speed into right field.  I use my speed to get a lot of extra base hits and steal a lot of bases.  Leadership is an important trait I have on the field and in the classroom.  I am the class president for the class of 2015 at my school.  On the field I help my left and right fielder shift to where they need to be depending on the hitter.  I also was the lead-off hitter my junior year and gave my team confidence going up to bat and telling them what the pitcher is like.  I am very easy to get along with, well disciplined, and a very coachable athlete.
