Personal Statement
As a catcher and a pitcher, I know my way through the ins and outs of the field. Whether that's communicating to keep everyone in the game, or cheering on whoever is at bat, I know it is important to keep morale high and players in the game. I would definitely characterize myself as an on-the-field leader, constantly knowing what's going on, keeping everyone focused on the game, but also adding that element of fun into the game of baseball. Baseball has been my life, I've played it since I was four and my life has revolved around it ever since. That being said, I find it incredibly important to know the game like the back of your hand. As a pitcher, I constantly change up my timings, looks, and pickoffs, I'll pick off to every base, taking a lot of runners by surprise, and putting on plays with my infielders. Academically I excel, I love learning with math, history, and science as my strong suits. I currently have a 5.96 weighted GPA and I really enjoy the challenges of harder classes, I've been two years ahead in math since 6th grade and plan to take math throughout high school and college. Overall, I'm a leader on the field and excel off the field, I know what to do in a lot of situations, and, to put it simply, I love the game of baseball.
