I am a versatile athlete, and I have played every position on the field that a lefty is capable of playing. For Varsity Baseball at my high school, I was a regular starter at 1st base and also played in the outfield periodically. On the mound, I had a very strong season with a record of 4-0. For summer ball (Slammers Illinois) I will be a regular starter in the outfield and on the mound. Whatever position I need to play, I'll play it - with a focus on what is best for the team.
I love baseball. I love to compete. And I love the team environment. I certainly want to excel on a personal level in all of the athletic endeavors I pursue, but I've always been team focused. For Freshman Soccer, Freshman Baseball and Junior Varsity Baseball (Sophomore), I was awarded the Coach's Award for each of these teams. The Coach's Award is given annually to the athlete whom the coach feels contributed the most to the team during the season, taking into account key attributes such as sportsmanship, dedication/work ethic, character, and overall leadership. Above all else, I want the team to excel and to succeed. And I have consistently carried myself in this manner every time I step onto the field. I make the team better.
I want to attend a college/university first and foremost for the academics - to find a place that will challenge me and help me continue to grow as a person. My goal is to find a school with strong academics and the best baseball fit for my talents - where I can contribute academically, athletically and socially to the broad environment.
I'm looking forward to the process and the journey, and to playing baseball at the collegiate level.
