Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Ethan Baratta, class of 2023 outfielder from Benet Academy. My love for the game of baseball dates all the way back to when I was four years old playing tee ball for my local park district. Since then, I have I have not only learned how to track a fly ball, or how swing a bat properly, but I have also learned how to bond with teammates after a tough loss, how to recover after a strikeout or an error, and how to think and anticipate the game before it happens.
Growing up I have always had the love of the game in me. Whenever I'm out on the field, day or night, I'm out there to compete and to have fun. Along with my love for the game, I also have a great sense of leadership. Being a centerfielder, President of my National Junior Honor Society chapter, and a four year captain of my basketball team have taught me the discipline of being a great leader and how to bring together and motivate my teammates and peers to get the job done. Academics are also extremely important to me. I was the valedictorian of my middle school and have achieved high honors for both of my years of high school so far. My goals for college are to continue to compete out on the diamond and to continue to grow in the classroom.
My leadership and love of the game, along with my strong work ethic and determination to succeed, can help make a difference at the next level. Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile and I hope that you find my qualities to be an asset to your school and your program
