Personal Statement
My name is Nolan Vlcek, I am a 6'2" and weigh 195lbs. I am fastball, slider and change up pitcher. I have been playing baseball all my life, and I want nothing more than to continue to wear the uniform and compete for as long as possible. I have worked extremely hard at getting stronger both physically and mentally since starting high school. It was during my Sophomore year that I really started to focus solely on my pitching and gearing myself towards becoming dominant on the mound.
As the son of a former Major league player (James Vlcek 1985), I would love to continue to play baseball at the next level just like my father did. My goal as a baseball player is to keep advancing to the next level because I love being part of a competitive team. I am confident that I would be a good match to play baseball at the collegiate level. I am truly dedicated to the game and improving myself and my skills. I threw my first pitch at the age of six, and I have loved the game since that moment. My father, James Vlcek, was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 1985. His love of the game has become my love. I really enjoy the competition and working to improve myself and my skills. In fact, I am always the first player on the field and the last player off the field. Every extra rep I can get will help to make me better, and be more valuable to my team. The next challenge on the horizon is college, and I intend to meet all the challenges college has to offer both on and off the field.
