Personal Statement
Growing up in a sports family, I have been drawn to competition for as long as I can remember. Competition has taught me the value of a strong work ethic, putting team success over my own and how to deal with adversity. Having older cousins that have been successful in their high school and college athletic careers has set great example for what is possible to achieve in sports. Whether at a team practice, a batting practice session with my Dad, doing tee work in our basement or at a weight training session I work relentlessly to improve my skills in order to perform at a high level.
My parents instilled in me at a young age that academics come before sports. I have taken that message and used the classroom to develop my character and fulfill my academic potential through hard work and dedication. I plan to major in accounting and enter the business world upon graduation. I hope to continue my academic and athletic career at a college that will help me succeed in both.
As a player I demonstrate strong leadership skills on and off the field. I applaud my teammates when they do well and pat them on the back when they need it most. I believe that I have the talent and character necessary to help a program be successful.
