Personal Statement
For the past 18 years, I have challenged myself to be the best athlete that I can be, on and off the field. As the captain of my high school team, I have set the bar at a high standard not only for my teammates, but for myself as well. I expect much from my team, but even more from myself. One of my ultimate goals as the captain of my team has been to lead by example. With that being said, I am ready to take my exceptional leadership qualities to the collegiate level. Ideally, I want to be surrounded by teammates who want to better themselves as individuals and to strive for greatness as a team. At this time in my baseball career, I want to play with athletes that put the team first and do whatever it takes to succeed and to win. I want to work with teammates on a daily basis that will encourage me to grow as an athlete and person. My ultimate goal is to continue competing in the sport that has taught me so much.
I believe that I am an excellent candidate for your program because of my willingness to push myself to the limit every single workout, practice, and game. I am an extremely disciplined shortstop and am constantly pushing myself outside of my comfort zone to exceed my current abilities. I firmly believe that I still have room for improvement as a player and am constantly challenging myself to reach my highest potential. I believe that your program can help me to reach my ultimate potential as a player.
Not only does my skill set and work ethic set me apart from other recruits, but my character speaks for itself. Currently, I am a part of several clubs and activities that provide me with knowledge and growth as a student, athlete, and individual. I enjoy surrounding myself with people that can teach me something new. Throughout my high school career, I have been lucky to be a part of many groups that have allowed me to add to my ever growing life experiences. Aside from baseball, Interact club, Diversity club, National Honors Society, high honor roll, basketball, and football, have all provided me with a platform that continues to help me teach others and learn from them.
