Personal Statement
My name is Evan Clark. I am currently a Junior at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois. Fenwick is an academically rigorous selective college preparatory high school which challenges students to grow intellectually, spiritually, and physically in a disciplined and diverse environment. I will graduate in 2021.
I’ve only been playing baseball since I’ve been 10 years old but my love and passion for the game grows every day. While I didn’t start out as a “natural,” I believe that my hard work and passion for the game has driven me to be a very competitive player today. I currently play baseball for the 2021 Chicago White Sox Elite as well as my Fenwick High School Varsity Team. I believe that my work ethic and dedication to the game have been responsible for me being recognized as a great teammate and leader for both teams that I play for. I have learned over the years that there is more to baseball than anyone can see, all the countless hours of training that goes unnoticed, the time, the workouts, and the dedication. I apply this commitment on and off the field, in everything I do.
In the classroom I have a 3.7 GPA this year in an Honors curriculum at an academically challenging Dominican High School. I will be well prepared for the demanding schedule of a collegiate athlete at a top academic college. I volunteer regularly in the community where I live and also in the community where my high school resides. I’m an active member of several organizations and clubs at my high school.
If given the opportunity, I’m confident that I will exceed expectations and perform at the highest level of my ability in the classroom and on the field. I’ve been a recognized leader, a favorite teammate, and I guarantee that you’ll find my work ethic second to none on and off the field.
