Jeffrey Szubert '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jeff Szubert and I am an infielder from Tinley Park, IL. I am an alumni at Victor J. Andrew High School and a sophomore at Joliet Junior College. In High school, I was a two year starter playing my junior year at third base and DH and my senior season at second base and shortstop. I learned a lot from the core group of leaders on the team my junior year, and took that knowledge with me as I was voted the team captain for my senior season. I was chosen 1st team all-area my senior season,  and voted the most valuable player on our roster. The experience I had as a captain of a varsity level team helped me grow as a player and an individual. 

After playing for the Lombard Orioles this past summer, I am more than prepared to play at a high level. After a near 70 game summer season, a Fort Wayne Regional championship, and 2nd place finish in the NABF World Series, I ended up being chosen to be part of the World Series all-tournament first team as well as 1st team all-league in the Wisconsin State League. I am currently attending Joliet Junior College and am playing under an experienced coach in Wayne King. The Wolves made it to the National Championship game this past season, placing second in the nation. I strive to help bring them back to the National Title game, and to return home a National Champion.

I am looking for an opportunity to play at the highest level I can possibly play following my year at JJC.

I am a passionate baseball player who plays for the challenge and love of the game. With support of my family and teammates I have the motivation to not only be the best player I can be, but also the best person. I can offer to any team a diligent player who strives to further perfect his game. I am a motivated player who will demonstrate the upmost respect for coaches and fellow teammates.

My goal is not only to be a successful baseball player, but also a successful student.  Throughout my college years, I am determined to excel academically and athletically.
