Personal Statement
My goals for baseball are to go to a college that fits me to earn my degree and play baseball. My goal immediately beyond college is to play baseball in the Major League or Minor League. One thing that makes me good for college baseball is that I do my job, which can be a lot of things. The main thing is to be a team player and continually improve my game. Other important aspects of doing my job are being a serious leader so the team can stay focused and execute what we're doing and encouraging my team by pumping them up before and during practice and games. Whatever I need to do to make myself and my team better, I will do. Another thing about me that can be good for college is my work ethic. It is a necessity for me to work harder than everyone around me so I meet and surpass my goals of improving as a player. Some things that differentiate me from the other players are that I am pleasant and personable, yet I take the sport seriously. Also, I always finish what I start, no matter how hard it is. This is evident as my work ethic is also strong in academics. I maintain a high GPA (currently 3.9) with all honors courses while also playing school basketball and baseball and club baseball. In order to be a successful baseball player, understanding the game is as important as the work ethic itself. One strength I have is my ability to respond to situations as they occur during the game. In the end, the love of the game drives me to work hard and continue improving myself. Playing baseball in college and beyond is my goal and I will continue working at my highest level academically and athletically to achieve that goal.
