Personal Statement
Thank you for visiting my profile. I started playing baseball at 5 years old in a recreational program. I started taking pitching lessons my 6th grade year. It was at that time I discovered how much I really loved playing baseball. When I reached 8th grade, my pitching coach recommended I try out for a local travel ball program. I was offered a position on the team and worked on improving my skills on the mound as well as outfield and first base. As a part of our high school baseball team, I started freshman year as a relief pitcher. By the end of my Sophomore year, I was dressing for both Varsity and JV teams. After the school season was over, I continued to play on a Travel League. By the end of the summer of 2014, I had worked my way to the number 2 Varsity pitcher. I also play in a Fall wooden bat league.
My short term goal is to break our High School strike out record. My midrange goal is to play ball while attending college. The ultimate dream would be to play for a Major League Ball Club.
I am a left handed pitcher with backup experience on 1st base and Right Field. I continue to work with a pitching coach to improve my mechanics and speed. I currently throw three different pitches – Two Seam Fastball, Change Up and Curve Ball. I will be learning to throw a slider this winter. I will also be working on core training during the off season. I am a 3 sport athlete (baseball, football & basketball) and love being a part of a team. When not on the field, I am one of the first to support my teammates.
Outside of sports, I am a Life Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow (OA). I am working to finish my Eagle project during the next year. I am a caring person who believes in giving everyone a chance. I am a hardworker and an honest person and believe I would make an excellent asset to your program.
