Personal Statement

My name is Mason Schwalbach. I am a 4-sport varsity athlete (All-Conference or higher awards in 3) in one of the most competitive conferences in Illinois and the Midwest. I have always wanted to play baseball at the next level and I would like to be on a highly competitive college team. As a soph I started at C and was the 2/3 hitter on our varsity baseball team, and I led our team in hits/xbh/2b/rbi.  I was also a starter on our back to back state qualifying wrestling teams where I was an individual State Wrestling Qualifier at 220lbs, and I have been a varsity football starter since sophomore year on both sides of the ball.   I am a good leader vocally, and I lead by example. I can be an asset to any team at the plate hitting and behind it catching. I also have experience playing first and third base.

I would like to go to a college that offers me good academics and good opportunities to play. Academics are very important to me. While playing four sports, I maintain a 3.93 GPA, am a High Honors student, and scored a 32 on my ACT. Location would not be an issue because I am open to going to college anywhere that I feel will give me the best opportunities in the classroom and on the diamond. I am a contributing athlete in four sports and I feel that this will help me contribute even more when I focus just on baseball. I am a good leader on and off the field and I always encourage my teammates to do better. I am very coachable and already have great experience to help me at the next level.

  • Mason Schwalbach, 3B, Marian Central Catholic (IL), 2021 Physical left-handed hitting third baseman, 6-foot, 225-pounds. Primarily hit towards the middle-of-the-order for Pro Player 2021 this weekend. Strong hands and wrists, advanced raw power to all fields, generates natural loft on swing from an uphill plane. Controlled the barrel well, confident bat-to-ball skills as well; works counts and chokes up when he gets behind. Hammered the baseball all weekend, including a no-doubt home run over the right-field scoreboard on Friday afternoon. Had multiple other extra-base hits throughout the tournament, shooting the ball into both gaps. Power-hitting corner infield prospect that remains uncommitted.

The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
