Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember, people have told my family and me that they love to watch me play because I give 100% effort no matter the situation. My passion, joy & intensity is not just limited to games and practices as I spend my free time working on skills and my athleticism. I also work just as hard to be a good teammate. I am genuinely happy for my teammates’ successes and am always there to pick them up when they need it. While I am not an extroverted person, my leadership comes through by my efforts and positive attitude. It has continued off the field as I have chosen to stay focused on my academics and athletics despite the peer pressures put on teenagers. Also, I’ve been able to maintain a solid GPA while being a three sport athlete.
My varsity football coach summed me up best near the end of my junior season. I had been asked to serve in a different role for the team and he thanked me for trusting the process and being mature about playing different positions throughout the season. In my eyes, it’s more about team success than my success.
