Personal Statement
My name is Hunter Myers and I am a sophomore at Bedford North Lawrence High School in Bedford, Indiana. My academic goal is to attend a university where I can obtain a degree and pursue a career in optometry. I hope to achieve this goal by acquiring an academic scholarship, as well as a baseball scholarship, which is my second collegiate goal. Focus, hard work, dedication, and self motivation define how I do all things in my life. I take pride in my schoolwork and I'm always striving to reach new goals and challenge myself to be my best. One thing that really sets me apart from others is that I treat baseball like a lifestyle instead of a sport. I am always exercising, lifting weights, and eating healthy to improve my overall health, which translates into baseball. Sports have always been an important part of my life. Growing up I've played many sports such as football, basketball, track, and baseball. Baseball has always been my favorite sport, so when I reached high school, I decided to focus completely on it. I love baseball because it has taught me many life lessons, such as learning from failure to become successful, responsibility, teamwork, and mental toughness. I will continue to use these lessons throughout my baseball career, as well as my academic career, to succeed in life.
