Personal Statement
I fell in love with baseball in 3rd grade. Ever since, I've learned a series of valuable lessons. I've learned great work ethic, leadership skills, growing from failure, and how to have a passion for something. I think I've grown the most as a student-athlete during my 13u travel season. During the season, I struggled the most I've ever struggled in baseball. However, I am glad I failed because that was when good work ethic was created. I realized I was not as good as I thought I was and needed to start working hard. The next season I used as a rebuild season and basically lived in the baseball facility where I hit, threw, conditioned, and sometimes ate dinner. After only one season of hard work and grit I became both a better player physically but also mentally. This next upcoming season, I want to be a team leader and not only succeed but fail so I can learn where I need to work. As well as this, I want to lead my high school, Carmel High School, to our first Indiana baseball state championship. We as a school have never won state in the past and I want to be a contributing factor to the first Carmel squad to win it all. After a complete change in our coaching staff, I am blessed to be part of the fresh start of our baseball program. In my future, I want to continue my career as a student-athlete and compete at the collegiate level. I believe that I not only have the talent, but also the work ethic, leadership, and respect of the game to make a positive impact on your college program.
