Personal Statement

Coach, thank you  for taking your time to learn about my future and myself. My name is Luke Pokorney, I am from Evansville, Indiana. I have two older siblings, and live with my mom and dad. I live in a Christian home, and value honesty, integrity, and hard work.

I am 17 years old and my graduating year is 2023, my current height is  6’0 and weigh 185  pounds. I have above average speed (6.6 -60)and I work daily improving my game and mental attitude. No one will outwork my heart or work ethic.

Goals

My goals are simple. I give 110% each and every game and practice, I respect my teammates and opponents, coaches and officials. My ultimate goal is to always play as hard as I can and to advance my game to the next level, playing college ball is my ultimate goal and I will work harder than the next guy to make that dream possible.

Accomplishments

One of my accomplishments is that in my 11th grade year I led my team in, stolen bases average, hits, RBI’s, and OBS%. I have played since I was 5 years old and have been really comfortable playing at a level of competition to make myself and my teammates better. I strive to be a good teammate and be a leader on the field and dugout, to be coachable, and quick learner. A college education is very important to me.

My second goal was to put myself in position to score 35 stolen bases and scored 30 times.     • Volunteer for my local Challenger League Baseball program. Challenger League is baseball for the children with physical or mentally challenged conditions. We took the HIGHLAND Challenger League team to the LLWS in 2018 to play in the LLWS challenger league exhibition game. Only two teams in the world get to do this each year. Is was a very special trip.
