Personal Statement
I am a 17 year old outfielder (CF and LHP secondary position) currently playing and starting on a 18u travel baseball team (Midwest Astros). Prior to this season I played on an 18U travel team for 2 seasons, until those players moved on to pursue college/ careers/ or joined the military. Playing on that team gave me experience with older, more mature players that I believe have helped me personally mature and grow as an athlete. I have played baseball for 11 years and have always been a leading contributor for each and every team. My seventh and eighth grade years, I was awarded MVP for my school baseball team. Three years ago my All Star team won the 16u (I was 14 at the time) Indiana State tournament and went on to play in the Super Regionals for the Midwest. In addition, I was chosen to join the Baseball Factory Under Armour National Team and will be played and trained at Pirate City in Bradenton Florida this summer.
On and off the diamond I strive to be the best athlete and student I can possibly be. I maintain a 4.14 gpa and take many pre-ap/ AP classes to help prepare me for the collegiate level. I volunteer at the nearby food pantry when that opportunity is given. I take the game of baseball and academics very seriously, knowing that both of them could offer me a bright future.
College baseball has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. It is something I strive for and push myself to achieve. I plan on furthering my education and attending medical school to become a sports medicine physician at a University that is a great fit for me both academically and as an athlete. My dedication, determination and skill set I bring forward will help me succeed at the collegiate level and will follow me throughout life.
