Personal Statement
Growing up with a Mother who played college softball has been very influential in sculpting my athletic career. Ever since I was a young child I would play catch with my Mother and Brother. This exposure to the game gave me an intense fascination that has only grown throughout my life. As a four year starter for my varsity high school team, I have learned how to grow as a leader and how to motivate my teammates for future success. I believe that a team is only as strong as its weakest link, that is why I try to encourage my teammates to strive to become better in an uplifting manner.
Coming from a single parent household I've had to work hard in my life in order to ascertain the goals I have put before myself. I have put in many hours of hard work in order to excel in the classroom, where I am currently my class Salutatorian. I apply this same mindset when it comes to preparation for baseball. I spend countless hours practicing and lifting weights in order to craft my game and achieve excellence. Hard work is the key to success in any atmosphere.
