Baseball is a very important part of my life, I have a true love for the game. I pride myself in being a hard worker, a team player, a smart player, and a coach-able player. However, I think my two most important qualities are my love for the game, and my academic dedication. I think that having a love for the game is so important because without it, nothing else will follow when things get tough. I think my academic dedication is important because my grades will not be an issue. By being dedicated to my studies, I have also learned a very effective work ethic that helps in all parts of life, and after all my main goal for college is to get an education. I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA (out of 4.0) in 5 semesters, while taking challenging classes like, AP physics, AP Biology, and AP Calculus. My biggest goal each day is to get better than I was the day before, even if it is just a little bit, I want to make progress. Going into freshman year I knew my weakest link was my size, I weighed about 125 pounds, by the beginning of sophomore year I weighed 145 pounds. I gained 20 pounds that year, thanks to lifting weights 5 days out of the week. I also gained 20 more pounds the next year to get to 165 pounds at the start of junior year, and while this is not an impressive wight for my height, it shows the progress that I have made. As a sophomore, I was voted by the players and coaches to receive the most improved award. To most people, this is a pity award, but for me it was very important, it showed that the countless hours I spent practicing after practice while everyone else was playing video games had payed off. I was very happy to have moved from the freshman team to starting varsity by the end of the next season. I also play basketball for my high school, and was able to earn the same award for the same reason my sophomore year. I feel that I can be a good addition to any team. I pull for my teammates at all times, as well as push them to better themselves every day. I bring the energy to practice everyday, while still be a coach-able player.
