Personal Statement
My goal is to go to school and get a nice scholarship so my parents don't have to worry too much. I would love to attend a college that is away from home so I can get the independent experience of being on my own. It's quite early in my career to know exactly what I want to do, so I'm up for conversations, networking and having the opportunity to visit as many colleges as I can. We are very lucky to have family all over the country so I'm trying to attend as many Showcase camps near their homes and take advantage of a free place to stay! My first Showcase camp was this summer (6/18/19) at Purdue University Northwest (very near my home). It was an incredible experience as a kid who is not officially in 9th grade yet. I was the only one to hit a ball over the fence and it was against a varsity pitcher!! I was given excellent feedback and now I know what to expect for the next time. I will be attending Rice College Showcase camp on 7/30/19 and I'm very excited to play against some great Texas players!
As a teammate, I like to be a leader. I like to pump up the team when they are down and pump them higher when they are already high. I love to give my teammates tips to boost their confidence and improve their skills. I also love to receive constructive criticism myself as I'm always looking to improve. I am very coachable and want to keep learning, improving and excelling.
I have a very bright and positive attitude, always have and always will. You can ask any of my former coaches, my parents, family members and other parents from my teams. I have bad days just like everyone else and I accept that and want to learn from a bad day. My mom will never forget the day when the ump came up to me after a game and said: "Wow, I've never seen someone smile after striking out!" I'm smiling because I know better and should not have struck out, but will know for the next time to try harder.
These next 4 years are going to be so exciting and I'm looking forward to every minute of it!
