Hello coaches,
My name is Nick Collins and I have played baseball my whole life. I never really though that I would fall in love with the sport when I was looking for something to do at the age of 6, but that is the way that it turned out. Ever since playing in the Indiana state championship when I was 12 years old, I have been in love with the sport. I I have made friendships and connections that will last a lifetime through the great sport of baseball. Baseball has taught me my strengths and weaknesses, how to be helpful, flexible, determined, and persistent. It has also taught me to keep my head up at all times and how to have a hard driven work-ethic like no other. I have learned that I am not perfect and failure is a part of life. Baseball has taught me how to overcome these challenges, as I now get up when I am down and am always determined to do my best.
My academic goals for high school include getting good grades (all A's) every semester and learning how to manage my time and resources. I want to do my very best in high school so that I will be able to get into a good college to play baseball and hopefully earn a scholarship. There are many different obstacles that I have had to overcome to get to the point where I am now. I have not always been a straight A's student and l and I have not always been good at baseball. Although, with many hours of work put into the weight room, the field, and studying, I have become a great baseball player, along with a great student. I am a very smart person who has great problem solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. With all this said, I feel as if I can be a great team leader and pave the way for many other athletes like me.
