Personal Statement
Moving into my junior year of high school, my top priorities are to maintain my GPA of 3.72 and to continue my baseball training to ensure that I will be a valuable asset to college or university. Baseball has been my main passion since I first stepped on the field at the age of five. Whenever I have the opportunity to play or practice, I am 100% committed. As a catcher, I take control of the game by watching, analyzing, and remembering every pitch, every hit, and every play. I am able to use that knowledge to think ahead of the game and direct my teammates as needed. Communication and respected leadership are strengths for every team, and that is one way I set myself apart from the other players. My skill set earns the respect of my teammates because they can trust me to make difficult blocks, throw precisely to second base, and to call pitches that will lead to strikeouts. As a hitter, I typically lead my teams with the highest on base percentage. Typically hitting in the second or third position, I am a consistent gap hitter that can go deep into the count. Baseball is a sport that I respect and love. I never leave a practice or game without a handshake and a thank you to my coaches because I value every opportunity to play this sport.
