Austin Turner '17 Recruiting Profile

I believe I have a world class work ethic, plus athletic abilities, and elite knowledge of the game of baseball. I know I am not the most physically talented player on the field at all times, but my attitude and mindset is to play like the best and work harder than the best. I can use my knowledge of the game and ability to use instincts on a hitter/pitcher to put myself in a position to make every play. I am very defensively minded. I know where to be to put body to be in the best possible position to make a play. This comes from excessive drill work and reading a pitcher and hitter at the same time to see where the ball will most likely be. I do like hitting as well. I am not a homerun type of player. I like to drive the ball to the gaps and use my legs to do the rest. To go along with running, stealing bases is something I believe I do well. I use a counting method to time up a pitcher and also use the count in my favor. Academically I am an exceptional student who has never had anything below an A.
