Personal Statement
Last year as a freshman, I started roughly 3/4 of the varsity games over a senior catcher. I also won Newcomer of the Year and was close to being team MVP as well. Before my freshman year began, I went to Florida to train and play there for a year, and while there I played for the Port Orange Panthers and attended the rigorous Spruce Creek High School summer program. While under Spruce Creek's tutelage, I had my eyes opened to a whole different level of play and was offered to play on many travel teams but was prevented from doing so as I was moving back to Indiana. I have my sights set on a D1 school, preferably a larger school that has a good reputation, Though this may seem like a challenge given the tough competition I'm up against, and me not having the same exposure, I am up for the task and believe I can hold my own against any high school catcher. I am a team player, take well to criticism, and work on my game regularly with my father on my days off from practice and during the offseason to analyze my swing and work on catching drills. I also don't argue umpires and never with coaches, and almost always execute when called upon.
