Personal Statement
My love of baseball started when I was around 4 years old. My dad took me to a park and I hit a bucket of baseballs. I was hooked. We probably went to the park to hit a bucket of balls every day. Over the years I have learned to overcome many obstacles. Being one of the smaller and younger players on my teams I have had to work harder to showcase my skills and talent. This has made me a stronger player not only physically, but mentally as well.
I have been influenced by the many supportive people around me. My parents have always encouraged and supported the love of sports. By participating in sports, I have not only learned what it takes to be a top athlete, but also the traits necessary to be a better person. My competitive nature propels me to always play hard and do my best. I always try to end games and practices on a high note. For example, during batting practice I must end on a good hit before I can be done.
Playing sports has helped me apply determination, competitiveness, focus and drive to my everyday life. I would be a great addition to your program because I strive to get better all the time. I am coachable, and I do what it takes to win.
I not only want to find the best fit for my athletic career, I am looking to align myself with the best possible schools and programs academically as well. I am looking into the fields of business management and also athletic training. My character focus and drive will help me to be successful in both my academic career as well as my athletic career.
