Personal Statement
Personal Statement NCSA:
Winning Second Place at the 2016 Iowa High School State Baseball Tournament my senior year was the highlight of my baseball career. During football the previous fall, I fractured my throwing arm while at a pitching tryout. My road to recovery during the off-season allowed me to realize my strong desire to continue playing baseball. It allowed me to focus on my dream of playing baseball and work hard to attain the dream after injury.
Through my participation in football, track and baseball in high school, I learned the importance of teamwork, personal effort, and setting goals.
Coaching middle school baseball for Carlisle Community School the Summer 2017, allowed me to share my love of baseball and knowledge with future ball players. I enjoy helping my teammates and future players develop their talents for the game.
My positive attitude and leadership skills will make me an asset on your team. I am a strong outfielder-leader. Most of my outfield experience is in the Centerfield position where communication is key. On the mound, I offer speeds of 90-92 on my fastball and a curveball with major movement. As a pitcher, my speed assists me in fielding balls other pitchers can’t.
I am looking for a four-year college or university where my two years of JUCO playing time will allow me a playing opportunity. I am willing to play anywhere in the U.S. I am an Elementary Major with an emphasis in History. I am anxiously looking forward to finding my next step educationally and for baseball.
