Personal Statement

I became passionate about baseball during Little League competition, which eventually lead me to club baseball with Full Count and Perfect Game. I grew the most as a person and player during these travel ball experiences. Some great coaches helped me learn how to keep my composure while under pressure and how to take constructive criticism. This enabled me to refine my skills and improve my game. Lessons learned during competitive play have given me the confidence needed at the high school level to be a leader for my team. I have been able to come through for the team in crucial situations. I have hit players in for game winning runs, put myself in scoring position by stealing bases, been a reliable defensive player in both the outfield and infield, as well as, lead from the mound. My most memorable accomplishment was entering a game from the bullpen to take our team from a 6 run deficit to a comeback victory during the Metro Tournament.

I am searching for a college that continues my personal growth. One that offers a major in business with an emphasis in sports management/marketing and meets my athletic goal of playing baseball at the collegiate level. My desire after college is to have a career marketing or managing a collegiate or professional athletic team.

My education in high school, as well as, playing baseball have taught me the value of setting goals, being committed, staying motivated and being a team player. I am one of the first players to practice and one of the last to leave. I am dedicated to the success of the team and am focussed on continual growth and improvement. I am determined to stay at the top of my game,  particularly in the off season, by keeping fit with cardio, strength training, batting practice and pitching instruction. I have the ability, desire, character and work ethic to make an impact on your program.
