Jonathan Van Beek '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jonathan Van Beek. I currently am attending West Lyon Community High School. As a freshman, I was starting shortstop and number 2 pitcher on staff. As sophomore, I was team ace and played shortstop, 3rd base and 2nd base. Last year my high school team finished with a 18-4 record. This year I will play outfield and infield based on team needs. I will be team ace again. This spring I lead the Sioux City Bancrofts legion team in hitting with .360 average. I played outfield, infield and pitched for Sioux City. I will also be playing for Sioux Falls Cyclones traveling team on weekends this summer. I am a self motivated individual willing to work hard to improve my baseball skills on a daily basis. During offseason, I work out with my younger brothers at our hitting cage and also long toss five to six days a week. I attended private lessons the last two winters to develop curveball, slider and change up. I would like to play college baseball at the highest level possible. I will continue to work hard to improve personally and do what it takes to make team better. I want to a great person who plays baseball.
