Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, I have always tried my best in everything I do, whether that be in academics, athletics or at work. Currently as a junior in high school. I have a 3.4 GPA. I am/will be taking upper level math and science courses in addition to the required coursework. I am interested in pursuing a degree in agriculture or agronomy after high school. Therefore, I have taken various agriculture classes offered at my high school. During the past three summers I have also worked for a local rancher shipping cattle, spraying for noxious weeds and building fence.
For the past 3 years, I have participated in both basketball and baseball at the high school level. I lettered in basketball my sophomore and junior year, and freshman and sophomore year of baseball. I have played second base, pitcher and short stop for my varsity baseball team. I also play club baseball for the Wichita Aeroes. On that team, my positions are short stop and pitcher.
During my Junior year at Eureka High School I batted .524 with an on-base-percentage of .643 through 42 at-bats. I had two home runs, one triple, seven doubles and 18 RBI's.
I believe leadership is important on and off the field. Throughout my youth, I have demonstrated leadership through various opportunities. Currently, I am president of my county's 4-H council, vice president of my 4-H club and serve as reporter for my local FFA chapter. I have also served as president of my 4-H club and vice president and treasurer for 4-H council.
Baseball has been my favorite sport ever since I was able to pick up the bat. I try my best and I am a quick learner who understands the game.
