My name is Jayden Ford, and I have been playing baseball since the age of 6. As a small child, I watched the men in my family play baseball on various teams. Watching them play made me want to try the game out for myself. I started playing with Kansas RBI under the direction of Cle Ross. My primary position has been second base; however, I have played shortstop, center-field, and back catcher, which was my least favorite. Most people describe me as the "Salvador Perez" of the team because I bring positive energy, encouragement to my teammates, and a big smile. Academically, I am an honor roll student, with Math and Forensic Science being my favorite subjects. My hobbies include baseball, listening to music, and having fun with my friends.
I recently joined a mentoring group called "C" You In the Major Leagues Foundation, founded by Kansas City Royals General Manager Dayton Moore. This group's vision is to develop leadership programs that will inspire kids, help families in crisis, promote education, and support faith-based programs and ministries. I have been a part of multiple community service projects with this mentoring group, including a Thanksgiving basket drive, building garden beds for an elementary school, and building picnic tables for the youth that reside in The Avenue Youth House, to name a few. This mentoring group has played a crucial role in the overall development of my personality, and as a player.
I am looking to join a team that includes team members who have a true passion for the game of baseball, a team with positive energy, and good sportsmanship. I am a team player who is coachable, honest, fun, caring, respectful, and spiritual.
Let's talk sports,
Jayden M. Ford
