Cole Luebbert '20 Recruiting Profile

I started playing sports when I was 4 when my parents signed me up for YMCA soccer and from the very beginning, sports has been a passion for me. By 5, I was playing soccer, basketball, and T-ball.  When I was 12, I knew that baseball would be my sport.

My birthday falls at the end of summer so I’ve always been one of the youngest players. Early on, my dad had me play a year up to push me not only athletically, but personally. It has not always been easy but I learned that when challenged, I can succeed. It’s made me a better pitcher emotionally and intellectually when I’ve found myself in tight situations. I’ve learned how to keep my cool and focus on what’s in front of me even when the guys I’m pitching to are bigger and older.

I have great parents that have taught me about doing the right thing, accountability and personal responsibility. I’ve had some great coaches who have pushed me to be better than I thought I could. The teams I’ve played with have been like family. I’m looking for a program to grow not only athletically but personally because I think sports can help make you a better person. I’m open to all schools but I would prefer to be in the Midwest and would like a school with a great educational program as well as athletic program.
