Personal Statement
My name is Michael Schaefer from Florence, Kentucky. I play on my high school team at St. Henry District High School and consider myself a very valuable asset to my team. I believe and many of my coaches believe that I possess the 5 tools for baseball. I have excellent speed. I have the ability to lay down a bunt from the left side and take an extra base. I also have the ability to hit for average as well as for power. As a catcher I am a vocal leader on the field. I am fundamentally sound on defense behind the plate. I take pride in my ability to catch runners stealing second and third as well as my blocking ability.
As a student, I enjoy learning and strive to do well in school for life after college. I currently have a 3.52 GPA and have scored a 21 on my ACT. I plan on retaking the ACT in October and September and also plan on taking classes to raise my score. My goal is to get to the 25-27 range by the time I graduate. I plan on studying Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical Engineering.
Since I have started playing baseball I have always had a unique ability to play the game. I have realized and my coaches have also realized that I need to take my talents to the next level. Playing baseball in college would be a dream come true.
